Dr. Behrang Dehkordi, MD, is a sports medicine physician and non-surgical orthopedic specialist.
He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine. His expertise includes non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, concussion and mild TBI management, joint injections, ultrasound, and sports injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Dr. Dehkordi is a former college soccer player and attended the University of Minnesota for his undergraduate studies. He received his MD at the American University of the Caribbean and his residency training at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. His fellowship training was completed at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also holds a master’s degree in football (soccer) medicine from the prestigious Football Science Institute in Granada, Spain.
Dr. Dehkordi has served as a team physician for the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of San Diego. He has also served as head team physician and medical director of professional soccer teams ASC San Diego and San Diego 1904 FC. His extensive expertise and experience in sports and musculoskeletal medicine is a testament to his belief that fitness and exercise are the best forms of medicine. He is extremely passionate about helping his patients recover from injuries through a holistic and multifaceted approach and is very well versed in strength and conditioning for injury prevention.
During his time off, Dr. Dehkordi still plays soccer competitively and is an avid alpine skier. He is also a lifelong supporter of Arsenal Football Club.
